Troubleshooting

The chat window won't load

A chat widget is a third-party script running inside someone else's page. There are a lot of ways for that to go wrong, but four causes account for most cases.

1. The page has not finished loading

Chat widgets are usually loaded last, deliberately, so that they do not slow the main page down. On a slow connection the widget can take several seconds after everything else has appeared. If the page is still fetching content, give it a moment before concluding that the widget is broken.

2. A content blocker is doing its job

Most blockers ship with lists that treat chat and support domains as trackers, and they are not always wrong — many of these widgets do load additional analytics. The practical fix is to allow the specific site rather than disabling the blocker entirely.

3. Storage is blocked

Chat widgets typically store a session identifier so that the conversation survives a page reload. In browsers that block all third-party storage, the widget often fails with no visible error at all — the button simply does nothing.

Allowing storage for the site, or opening it in a private window with default settings, will usually confirm whether this is the cause.

4. An extension is interfering

Script hosts, popup blockers, privacy extensions and even some password managers inject code into pages. Two extensions that each behave correctly can still break each other. A private window with extensions disabled is the fastest way to tell the difference between a site problem and a local one.

If none of that works

Reload with a hard refresh, and if the widget still does not appear, use whichever alternative contact route is listed on the main site. This page is static precisely so that it remains readable when everything else is not.
